Constant Contact interface issue on editing text. How do you move the text box?

Thank you for reaching out for help with the text block toolbar within your campaigns. The text toolbar does attempt to keep out of your way but in certain circumstances it can have a difficult time finding a good spot. Here are some guidelines that I've found helpful:
  • The toolbar checks first whether it can be entirely above your text block, then whether it can be entirely below your text block. Afterwards it checks directly beneath your text box's top boundary, then directly above your text block's bottom boundary. As a last resort, it will move to the bottom left corner of your screen. Scrolling your page so that one of the higher priority positions is in view should cause the toolbar to shift.
  • The main characteristic which gives the toolbar difficulty finding a convenient spot is when a text block spans the full height of your editing window.
    • Page zoom can be used to expand your working area.
    • Text can be split across multiple text blocks (which is also helpful in opening up additional image placement options)
    • It might also help to bring in the body of the article after the headline has been formatted.
    • Consider as well whether an excerpt of the article and a read more link may be suitable for your content. This can be a good way to convert email engagement into website traffic, allowing contacts to further engage with your company's online presence.
  • Scrolling upwards so that there is a bit of visible space above the top of your text block should be sufficient in this specific case. If the space above your first text block does not fit the text toolbar, adding a logo or other non-text item above should create sufficient space. If these elements aren't needed in the long run they can easily be deleted.
Seeing in video how you are interacting with the text, I will recommend to our engineers that it would be helpful for the toolbar to be aware of your text cursor's position as an additional factor in the toolbar's placement. Meanwhile, please let me know if any other questions come up or if you need further guidance.

Thank you for using Constant Contact.
